The Water Skiing Santa - How to get there

December 24th, 1pm sharp

The Water Skiing Santa can best be seen from Lady Bird Johnson Park (formerly Columbia Island) (GPS: 38°52′43″N 77°3′5″W ) which is located between 14th Street and Memorial Bridges along the George Washington (GW) Memorial Parkway in Arlington, Virginia and is accessible from the northbound and southbound lanes. The park is north of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and across the river from the Washington Monument which makes a great backdrop for the show. The park is also the home of the Navy - Merchant Marine Memorial.

The following maps are provided to assist you in reaching the show.

Parking

Free parking for the show is available at the Columbia Island Marina located on the west side of the GW Parkway and is also the location of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove. Arrive early as the parking lot fills up fast.  Additional parking is available in the Gravelly Point lot north of Reagan National Airport and is approximately a 20 minute walk north along the Mt. Vernon Bike Trail to Lady Bird Johnson Park.

Metro

Although we don't recommend it as it's quite a hike, you can reach the Water Skiing Santa show via Metro and the Mount Vernon Bike Trail from either the Arlington Cemetery Station or the Reagan National Airport Station. (The bike trail is not accessible from the Pentagon and Pentagon City stations.) Visit the Metro System Map and click on the station location to view an area map for finding the Bike Trail.
